Hello,

my name is Gregory “Lance” Henderson. I’m one of the four founding members of JACK’D 4 JESUS. I wear many hats in our J4J community here at Holman Prison. On the weight pile, I’m the Strength Training Director. I basically oversee all free-weights training and safety, from coordinating workout plans to ensuring each member maintains proper posture and form throughout every exercise. I also handle all J4J artwork and logo designs. Beyond that, I also lead regular legal sessions where we review individual cases together, check if everything is up to date, and figure out what steps need to be taken next. Last but not least, I plan and lead our Bible study sessions, alongside the other members.

I’m proud to be part of the J4J active, sober, Christian community. As each new member completes their J4J goals, I’m blessed to award them with their very own J4J t-shirt and a new study Bible of their choice. For me, it is a very deeply rewarding privilege to see yet another member dedicate himself to a healthy, Christian life day in and day out behind bars.

Bible verse

Matthew 7:3-5

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

It reminds me to not look down on or judge my brother and sisters in Christ when they fall short or stumble. I could be using that time to be working on my own short comings!
